Case Study: Jackson Industrial Sales
The beginning of our relationship with Jackson Industrial Sales is right out of a Marketing 101 textbook – a good, old fashioned cold call! When our team noticed that their site could use a refresh, Kevin reached out at the right time. William and Kristen Hutchinson at JIS were ready to make updates to their website to continue to grow their business.
- What We Did:
On the surface, our main project with Jackson Industrial Sales was a new website. But even a new website has many components. We started off as we do all client projects, with a Strategy Session – to get to know William, Kristen, their business, their products, the clients, and their goals for the company. Once we had a better understanding, we moved on to create a plan to launch a new website which included web design, copywriting, on-site photography, photography editing, and a logo kit with brand guide to help with logo quality and brand consistency.
- Challenges:
Do you know what Jackson Industrial Sales does? They serve a pretty niche audience, but they have a variety of goods and some services that you see or experience every day in West Tennessee. But how often do you really think about the toilet paper provider at your office or where the custom label, packing material, and tape that the package you just picked up came from? These types of products are everyday things – but they are important everyday things! Finding ways to differentiate these products and communicate all of their goods and services in a meaningful way was a challenge, but one we think we achieved through good descriptions and great photography and design.
- Unique:
When we started the website redesign project with Jackson Industrial Sales, they didn’t have an established brand guide, other than their existing logo. Because of a great working relationship with JIS, our team had the freedom to expand upon that brand, adding some character and additional color to the new website. We also spent time designing language for the business from the ground up for the products, as this was something that really hadn’t been done before in their space. It was a unique opportunity to support a true family business in modernizing their website and marketing.
